IDF Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Beirut Amid Ongoing Ceasefire Violations

Brief: Israeli forces conducted precision strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon as the terror group continues violating ceasefire terms.

The Israel Defense Forces carried out targeted strikes against Hezbollah positions in Beirut on Thursday, responding to continued ceasefire violations by the Iranian-backed terror organization.

The strikes targeted Hezbollah military infrastructure in the Lebanese capital, according to security sources. The operation comes amid growing frustration in Jerusalem over what Israeli officials characterize as systematic breaches of the November ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah forces.

Israeli defense officials have documented multiple instances of Hezbollah operatives repositioning weapons and military equipment in southern Lebanon in violation of the ceasefire terms, which explicitly prohibit the terror group from maintaining armed presence south of the Litani River.

"Israel will not tolerate violations of agreements designed to protect our citizens," a senior defense official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "Hezbollah's continued military activities leave us no choice but to respond decisively."

The ceasefire arrangement, brokered with international mediation following intense fighting last year, requires Hezbollah to withdraw its forces and heavy weaponry from Israel's northern border. Israeli officials have repeatedly warned that failure to uphold these terms would result in military action.

The IDF has maintained heightened alert status along the northern border since the ceasefire took effect, with intelligence units closely monitoring Hezbollah movements. Military analysts note that the terror organization has attempted to exploit the relative calm to rebuild its capabilities and reposition strategic assets.

Thursday's strikes demonstrate Israel's determination to enforce the ceasefire terms through military means when necessary, defense officials said. The operation was conducted with precision to minimize civilian casualties while degrading Hezbollah's military infrastructure.

Hezbollah, designated as a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States, and several other Western nations, has maintained its grip on Lebanese politics and security despite international pressure. The group receives substantial financial and military support from Iran and has repeatedly threatened Israeli territory.
