IDF Chief of Staff Tours Southern Lebanon, Confirms Iran Strike Plans Ready

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi conducted a tour of southern Lebanon, during which he stated that Israel maintains an updated target list for potential strikes against Iran and is prepared to act if necessary.

During the visit to Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon, Halevi emphasized the military's readiness to respond to Iranian threats, indicating that operational plans have been finalized and are ready for implementation should the security situation require it.

The IDF chief's statements come amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, with the Islamic Republic continuing to develop its nuclear program and support proxy forces throughout the region. Israel has maintained that it will take all necessary measures to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons capability.

Halevi's tour of southern Lebanon also focused on current IDF operations in the area, where Israeli forces have been working to counter threats from Hezbollah, Iran's Lebanese proxy. The visit underscores Israel's continued military presence and vigilance along its northern border.

The announcement of prepared strike plans against Iran represents a clear signal of Israel's operational readiness and determination to address what it perceives as existential threats. Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that all options remain on the table regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions and regional activities.

Israel and Iran have been engaged in a shadow war for years, with Israeli forces reportedly conducting numerous operations to prevent Iranian entrenchment in Syria and to disrupt weapons transfers to Hezbollah. The two nations remain locked in a strategic competition across the Middle East, with periodic escalations raising concerns about the potential for direct military confrontation.
